This conference will explore the needs and the reasons behind pupil’s behaviour and how behaviours can illustrate an unmet need. The links between different behaviours and different areas of need will be discussed and also practical strategies to support pupils.


Jarlath O’Brien: ‘All behaviour is the right behaviour’
Jarlath will go through his principles around understanding behaviours that may challenge both staff and pupils in the classroom. He’ll look at some of the evidence around the links between unmet needs and behaviour and how teachers and teaching assistants can support pupils to improve their behaviour over time.

Nina Jackson: ‘Access all Areas for pupils with Learning & Living Differences’ (SEND)
Nina will take you on a journey of Access all Areas – meeting the needs of pupils with Learning & Living Difficulties. You’ll learn that ‘Behind the Behaviour’ of pupils there are reasons ‘WHY’they display different needs. A journey of learning about‘WHAT’ skills, strategies and techniques you can use in classrooms to support these unique pupils- from the mental and emotional needs of a learner to those with Specific Learning Difficulties. The whole spectrum of learning and living differences will be covered. This will include knowing and developing effective relationships to engaging with those who are often disengaged.
